California is an amazing state, so we have written a whole series of blog posts about the Golden State. If you haven’t read them yet, be sure to check out our Golden Reads About the Golden State.

If you’re a die-hard tourist, then this week’s article is for you. Since California has such a stunning variety of places to visit, we decided to list the top places to see in California.

Los Angeles
The City of Angels should be the first destination on your list of places to see in Southern California. Los Angeles is the second largest city in America, and it has the largest international airport on the West Coast (LAX). In Los Angeles, you can experience the best that Southern California has to offer. Venice Beach and Malibu are some of California’s best beaches, and they’re quite close to L.A. Los Angeles is also a great place for entertainment. Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood are perfect vacation spots for anybody looking for a weekend getaway with the family. And if you love celebrities, then Los Angeles is the city for you! Many celebrities live in Los Angeles, and you might find them in one of the many designer stores and famous restaurants in L.A.

Yosemite National Park
Make sure your camera has enough storage, because this National Park has some absolutely stunning scenery. Half Dome is probably the most famous part of Yosemite; if you’ve seen a photo of Yosemite, chances are it was a picture of Half Dome. Yosemite also has massive Giant Sequoias and breathtaking waterfalls. The park has over 800 miles of trails and is home to diverse animals and plant life. If you love the outdoors, then you have to visit Yosemite. For people who are more into history, Yosemite Museum and the LeConte Memorial Lodge will take you back in time with their captivating exhibits. With amazing landscapes and beautiful wildlife, it’s no wonder that Yosemite is one of the best places that California has to offer.

San Francisco
San Francisco is a hub of culture, history, and tourism. The renowned Golden Gate Bridge, located in San Francisco, is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of California. San Francisco is also home to the world-famous cable cars that run between Market Street and Fisherman’s Wharf. And just offshore lies the legendary Alcatraz IslandSan Francisco’s Chinatown is the largest Chinese district outside of Asia. There is so much you can do in San Francisco. Take pictures of sea lions at Fisherman’s Wharf. Ride a ferry out to Alcatraz for the day. Drive down the crooked Lombard Street. Have the cultural experience of a lifetime in Chinatown. There’s literally something to do and see for everyone visiting San Francisco.

Napa Valley
If you have a taste for wine, then you will love Napa Valley, home to some of the best wine in the world. Since many wine connoisseurs visit here, Napa Valley has extravagant accommodations. World-class spas, five-star hotels, friendly bed and breakfasts–Napa Valley has them all. Napa Valley also has camping grounds and several hiking trails for those who love the outdoors. For those who want to take their adventures to a higher level, Napa Valley is also known for its hot air balloon rides. If you want to get pampered (and have some adventure while you’re at it), then Napa Valley is the perfect spot for you!

The list of California’s best places to visit could go on forever. San Diego, Sequoia National Park, Catalina Island, and Palm Springs didn’t make our list, but be sure to check them out. If you have to narrow down your list of places to visit in California, the places listed here should definitely be at the top!
